News

This week the Building Bridges participants had the opportunity to participate in a dot painting activity with Aboriginal artist Kerry Winmar-Taylor.

The artist was able to share her story about her culture and traditions as well as teaching participants about the story of the Rainbow Serpent (Snake). The participants were guided by the artist in completing the painting representing the Rainbow Serpent, water, the earth and yarning circles.

The end result was this beautiful artwork which will be put up in our office for all visitors to see. Thank you to Students for Refugees for organising this amazing activity.

ASeTTS is currently in the process of developing our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), to advance reconciliation in our own organisation and for our staff and clients to develop better relationships and understanding with the Aboriginal community and history.
