Voting is not just a privilege but a responsibility.
With the upcoming election on 22nd May, 2022, it is important to consider what each of the political parties is committing to in regards to granting permanency to refugees on temporary visas in Australia.
The WA Refugee and People Seeking Asylum Network (WARPSAN), is an advocacy and research network which consists of people with lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia, academics, community organisations, individual concerned citizens and other community members.
The network has strong input and support from health, disability and settlement agencies and bringing to focus both state and federal levels of social and political change necessary for refugee policies.
The ‘We all need our families’ campaign has been launched by WARPSAN, and is asking for permanent protection for the 20,000 refugees currently on temporary visas.
ASeTTS is proud to support this campaign and the important work of highlighting the real stories of many refugee and asylum seekers who have not seen their families for many years.
Visit the ‘We all need our families’ website to find out more about the campaign and to sign the petition.
