The HERS program, was showcased on ABC News on Sunday 3rd October.
HERS was developed by ASeTTS and SHQ – Sexual Health Quarters in partnership with young women from refugee-like backgrounds. The program aimed to develop the confidence and capability of young women to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing.
As a result of their participation in HERS, many of the participants have shared the information they learned with their families and friends. The program also nurtured the leadership skills of participants; many of whom are now contributing to conversations within their communities, and are presenting at professional forums.
We were thrilled when HERS was awarded the 2021 Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia, Y WA Large Organisation Achievement Award, and we are again thrilled to have the program featured by the ABC.
